Okay. I’m putting out the call: I want a super pizza recipe.
That means a crust recipe, and a sauce recipe. I can figure out how to cut mushrooms and/or pepperoni.
Go.

I like this crust recipe a lot: http://areyouhungryyet.blogspot.com/2007/02/pizza-three-ways.html
I change up the sauce all the time — more often than not I’ll use a chopped artichoke and roasted red pepper spread or an alfredo sauce or something straight out of the jar.
mark bittman’s pizza dough recipe is the bestest

I do it in our stand mixer; he suggests a food processor, but you could certainly do it by hand
as for sauce, I use a jarred spaghetti sauce (we like the Classico sundried tomato – it ain’t got sugar) or whip up something with tomato paste and other tomatoey stuff
I feel that there’s a difference between spaghetti sauce and pizza sauce, though I can’t tell you what it would be. If you google search the difference, some people tell you pizza has more spice, some say less, some say it’s just less watery than spaghetti sauce.
Dunno. Gonna have to work on that, I guess. Try some stuff.
I have a pizza crust recipe, but I don’t really like it, so I won’t burden you with it. I may try the others suggested here!
Otherwise, we’ve gotten all the fixins from LaRosa’s before (crusts, sauce, cheese) and had a pizza night where everyone makes their own individual pizza. It’s a big hit at family gatherings. And I’m partial to LaRosa’s. I think it will always be my favorite.
