Just went to a local CD Warehouse up here in Roswell.
I handed them 30 CDs we never listen to, or have duplicates of, or triplicates (because Stacey stole CDs from her old roommates). I got back two Lyle Lovett CDs, a DVD of The Iron Giant and $13.
And 20 CDs they didn’t want.
Yay!
Ancient Game Boy = Stale Cheerio Bar!
I have also been in the spirit of swapping. Last week I put Damon’s (with his permission) original Game Boy on Craig’s List under “Free.” It’s not worth anything, and I was going to dump it in the Good Will box, but a friend pointed out that someone might be tickled to have that.
About two minutes later I got a ton of replies hoping to be the winner. I gave it to the first guy who wrote, who just came to my office to pick up his prize. He told me that he believes in karma and wanted to give me something in return. So he handed me a plastic bag filled with: a Cheerio and milk bar (stale), two vending-machine-sized bags of Oreos (not yet tried), a little Chips Ahoy bag (not yet tried), three mailer samplers of Lancome Aqua Fusion moisturizer and a purple candle that smells like granny’s perfume (scent listed as “sensual” on the bottom). So cute. He was shorter than I am, he doesn’t have a cell phone and he came on a bike. All things that made me happy I picked him.
Re: Ancient Game Boy = Stale Cheerio Bar!
A mentally-disabled grocery worker once convinced me to buy a pack of cheerio-and-milk bars, because he said my kid would love it.
I had one and felt oogy for the rest of the evening, so I dumped the rest of them.
But hey, Chips Ahoy is a score.
What CDs are they? Maybe I’ll buy one or two from you.
They’re in the car, but off the top of my head we have several Huey Lewis (he bought the “Picture This” one), the Broadway Kids (I don’t even know where that came from or what it’s about), and the Dream a Little Dream soundtrack.
I’ll have to look at the others to see if there are any worth having.
Sooner Or Later When You Say “I Love You”
Picture This is the only Huey Lewis CD I could have had any interest in.
