One Day<\/em> by David Nicholls<\/p>\n

This was another grab from our\u00a0Little Free Library. \u00a0I’m a sucker for gimmicky novels involving time in some way… \u00a0This one tells the story of a relationship by describing\u00a0the events of one day in July every year, from their twenties through\u00a0forties.<\/p>\n

If I’m honest, I didn’t like the ending. \u00a0But the ride was enjoyable. \u00a0The convention worked pretty well, but I didn’t really feel like it was used<\/em>\u00a0in any particular way. \u00a0 It could have just been a novel that covers a long time period, without the arbitrary single day convention. \u00a0What did choosing that particular day bring to the table? \u00a0Not sure.<\/p>\n

But it was well written, and I guess other people liked it, because I see it was made into a movie a year later.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
