It was fine. It left me a little flat due to subconscious expectations that it would be more apocalyptic a la X-Men 3.

I know we must suspend our disbelief, but I kind of laugh at the extreme coincidences of archaeological discoveries showing historical evidence of ERV effects at the same time ERV breaks out. This happens once in each book.

The first time, one of the main characters discovers evidence of Homo Erectus giving birth to Homo Sapiens right when people are denying that the next stage of human is being born to Homo Sapiens, and the second time the same main character discovers evidence of Homo Erectus and Homo Sapiens living together in peace when people are trying to persecute and separate the new virus children from society. Whoda thunk?

And then there was this weird God thing thrown in where the female main character suddenly feels like God is communicating with her, for no reason whatsoever and with no actual effect on the plot of the book.
