Fluke Or, I Know Why the Winged Whale Sings by Christopher Moore.
Christopher Moore writes silly little mind-candy books, and this is an okay one. It’s not his best. I preferred The Lust Lizard of Melancholy Cove and Practical Demonkeeping.

I just used half of Josh’s amazon.com birthday gift certificate on Lamb. I have a couple of his mind candy books and love them.
🙂
Re: moooooore
I’ve had Lamb on my Amazon Wish List for a while now. Let me know if it’s worth keeping on there.
I believe his stuff to be the literary equivalent of thoses mini-chocolate bars you get for halloween. Tasty, no nutritional content, but not enough bad stuff to rot out your teeth/brain.
Terry Pratchett is another one like that. In fact, when I was in the store buying Fluke, a bookstore lady saw me and said, “if you like that, he’s got several other good ones.” I replied, “I’ve mostly read ’em.”
“Oh, well then you might try Terry Pratchett.”
“Read ’em all.”
She wandered away unsatisfied.
