I see Joe Vs. The Volcano didn’t win again this year.
When, oh when will the academy admit their mistake and make reparations?

I’m not arguing that with you
Parts of that movie I love, especially the corporate hell-hole stuff, with Dan Hedaya on the phone, like a David Mamet caricature, incessantly repeated the same lines: “I’m not arguing that with you!” and “I know he can GET the job, but can he DO the job?”
Re: I’m not arguing that with you
The corporate scene is brilliant. I’m not arguing that with you.
The chauffer character is brilliant. “They just pay me to drive the car, sir, not to tell you how to live your life.”
The luggage seller character is brilliant. “Very exciting… as a luggage problem.”
The problem is that it came out after Bosom Buddies, Bachelor Party, Big, and Turner & Hooch. People went to it expecting another wacky Tom Hanks vehicle.
But it’s not. It’s a fairy tale with a great theme.
“Whatever we do, wherever we go… we’re going to take this luggage with us.”

Joe Vs. The Volcano is not poorly-regarded in comparison to those other movies and the TV show.
It is poorly-regarded because IT IS NOT A GOOD MOVIE! And you are never going to apologize it into one, no matter how long you try.
It’s been a long and winding road…
“Been a long time coming to meet you, on a crooked road.”
Dang, I should have looked it up.
We played a drinking game once where you had to do a shot every time the crooked road logo/symbol appeared on screen. Not a good idea 🙂
Are you a fan of that movie too?
All the kids and I are Joe v Volcano fans.
Personally, I view it as a sign of true intelligence, along with being a fan of Labyrinth. It’s an elite group. ;D
and Labyrinth is a darn fine flick as well.
