The next time I get a spare $99, I’m going to buy the kit from the
National Geographic “The Genographic Project” to find out where my way-back ancestors hailed from.
I would think it’s a critical part of any genealogical efforts. And cool besides.

X Men
My brother in law did the project. It’s pretty cool. We got to look at his data. I think mine would probably have been not much different, but the thing is you learn something and you are helping the project. My bro-in-law being smarter than me and real good at getting his nerd on seemed to get more revved up about it that I seem to be able to. I’m more likely to take an extra hundred and do something selfish with it about now.

You never know though!

What could be more selfish than getting your DNA analyzed? It’s all about you, baby!
you just opened whole new doors…

Genographic Project
Hello!
I ordered the kit and have been following the progress online. Hopefully I will have my results in the next week or so and then onto the multirace test.

Re: Genographic Project
Good luck! I hope you’re satisfied with Whomever your personal “Eve” turns out to be.
I just blogged about my results (http://catholicgauze.blogspot.com) and I thought it was a really neat project.
Its not quite genealogical (won’t find out if Grandpa was Irish or Scottish) but it gives one a great understanding of their ancient roots. Hope you get the project and enjoy it as much as I have!
