Blam!

My, it is thundering something fierce up here.

And I do love the thunder.

In fact, I love a rainy night. I say that with full knowledge that all readers have that song stuck in their heads right now, as I do. Which is fine, because I like the song, too. Even the Chipmunk’s version.

Anniversary

The Earth has completed one full revolution around the sun since I first posted on LiveJournal.

On that day, Howard Dean dropped out of the presidential race, I was home sick, and I was trying to figure out how to get the pine straw off my roof without a ladder.

Today, Howard Dean is still out of the presidential race, I have a sinus thing going on, and I have more pine straw on my roof. But it is different pine straw, and I have a ladder.

Progress, progress, progress.

Threes and Sevens

I was just reading a pdf of the autobiography of Nikola Tesla.

In it, he mentions a need to do repeated actions a number of times divisible by three.

‘s beau Damon has mentioned a need to do such things in sets of 7. (Either Kendra Myers or Mary Kraft mentioned having the same need for 7).

What is this about? What on earth is this compulsion?

A form of OCD no doubt, but… weird.

Searching for Bobby Repairer

You know the scenes in Searching for Bobby Fisher in the park, where there are these animated, low-down dirty drug usin’ chess players? They curse and gesticulate and use intimidation tactics while playing chess?

That’s what our break room is like during break time for the repair center.

I just saw a guy stand up, slam a knight from one position to the other, and yell “Damn! I got your ass on the run now!”

They also play dominoes with the same enthusiasm.

Happy Birthday…

She is three new teenagers wrapped into one.

On an unrelated note, the wind appears to be having its way with various branches above my house, such that every so often there is a fairly significant thud.

I hope I have a fully operational roof when I wake up.
